Activities and responsibilities of the Head of the Part-time (special part-time) Department:

The Part-time (special part-time) Department is managed by a Head whose status is equivalent to that of a dean of a faculty of a higher education institution.

The Head of the Department:

• develops a program for the development of part-time (special part-time) education;
• concludes contracts with employers for the organization of students’ qualification internships;
• ensures the implementation of new teaching technologies and the monitoring of students’ academic performance;
• coordinates and approves the topics of students’ graduation qualification works;
• takes measures to increase the effectiveness of educational and upbringing work with students;
• organizes measures on labor protection, technical and fire safety, and ensures that department staff comply with internal regulations and labor discipline rules;
• plans, organizes and coordinates the educational-methodological and scientific work of the teaching staff ensuring the educational process;
• within the scope of his or her authority, represents and protects the interests of part-time (special part-time) education at meetings of the Academic Council of the higher education institution, the rectorate, faculties and departments;
• assigns teaching staff ensuring the educational process in part-time (special part-time) education to supervise students’ course papers and graduation qualification works;
• ensures interaction of the part-time (special part-time) department with other structural divisions of the higher education institution.
